Another week in Fort Lauderdale brings plenty of opportunities for fun and excitement. Whether your interests are in the arts, athletics, or good old-fashioned family fun, there is something for everyone in this vibrant and active city. Consider some of these great options.

For a rich cultural excursion, visit The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, located on 900 N Birch Rd, or enjoy The Bonnet House's fine artists' exhibition at Gallery 928 (928 NE 20th Ave) entitled the "Viva Florida 500 Best in Show Series". This exhibit features artwork inspired by 500 years of Florida history, and is one of the biggest and most popular in the city. The opening reception is on June 20 from 6pm to 8pm at the gallery and is free and open to the public. It will include wine, cheese, and a raffle. The "Florida 500 Best in Show Series" will run through July 21. The Bonnet House is open year round!

For a fun family outing to support a charitable cause, consider “Alex’s Lemonade Stand" and a screening of the cartoon feature "Monica" starring South Florida actress Bailee Madison, on June 22 from 10am to 2pm at the Young At Art Museum (751 SW 121 Ave, Davie). Hosted by animator and educator Rob Cabrera and actress Bailee Madison, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled cartoon feature while buying delicious lemonade, the proceeds of which benefit childhood cancer research. "Alex's Lemonade Stand" is a non-profit foundation that encourages children nationwide to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer by hosting their own lemonade stands.

On June 22 from 8am to 5pm, the Central Broward Regional Park, (3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill), will be the site of the inaugural Australian Football Stadium Classic. Sponsored by The United States Australian Football League (USAFL) and the Fort Lauderdale Australian Football Club (FLAFC), this tournament was 6 years in the making and will pit the host Fort Lauderdale Fighting Squids against the Florida Redbacks, Dallas Magpies and an Invitational Team (The Conquistadors) made up of players from around North America in a round-robin tournament for the Stadium Cup. It promises to be a fun and unique event for all.
