If art, music, and family fun are on your agenda for this week, look no further than our very own Fort Lauderdale!

On Saturday September 28, The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale (One E. Las Olas Blvd) will be participating in the Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day Live! Experience this amazing museum at no charge, with free admission courtesy of Smithsonian Magazine. All you need to participate is a “Museum Day Live” ticket (each ticket is valid for two guests) for which you can register on the Smithsonian Magazine website. The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale has over 83,000 sq ft with 29,000 sq ft devoted to exhibition space. It is home to a permanent collection of more than 6,000 works, including significant pieces by the American painter William Glackens, by the artists of the Northern European CoBrA Movement and by contemporary Cuban artists. There's always something new and different at the Museum, as well. Rotating exhibitions span time and genre - from the recent “Warhol and Cars: American Icons” and “Wari: Pre-Inca Lords of Peru” to “Foto Fort Lauderdale”, an exciting new series of high-caliber photographic exhibitions that give photography a permanent year-round home at the Museum. This Saturday docent-led highlight tours will be offered at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and the museum is open until 5:00 pm.

Also this weekend, from September 27th-29th, bring the kids to see Sesame Street Live “Can’t Stop Singing” at the Parker Playhouse (707 NE 8th Street). When Elmo gets his furry fingers on Abby Cadabby's magic wand, there's something in the air - and Sesame Street becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage! Join all of your favorite Sesame Street characters in learning why it feels good to sing a song, but why it feels good to stop, too! Tickets start at $19.50, but the fun is priceless!

And finally, Music lovers can join legendary performers Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck as they kick off their co-headlining North American Tour at the Hard Rock Live (One Seminole Way, Hollywood) on Friday evening, September 27. Wilson (co-founder of the Beach Boys) and Beck (of the Yardbirds) are two of the music industry's most celebrated entertainers, and will bring an evening of historic musical collaboration as they are joined on-stage by Wilson's former band mates Al Jardine and David Marks. Wilson is considered one of pop music's most deeply revered figures as the creative force behind some of the most beloved records ever. The Beach Boys produced nine consecutive gold albums with such classics as "Surfer Girl”, "I Get Around", "Fun, Fun, Fun," "Help Me, Rhonda" and "California Girls”. These are just a handful of the more than two-dozen Top 40 hits Brian Wilson co-wrote, arranged, produced and performed with the band. Jeff Beck is known as one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock, and was ranked among the top five in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and as a solo artist (2009). This amazing show will begin at 7:30 and tickets start at $49.
