Country-pop sensations Lady Antebellum will be performing at the Hard Rock Live (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood) on May 16.  The Grammy Award-winning act out of Nashville, is set to perform all their hits during their “Take Me Downtown” Tour.  They’re one night only performance in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area begins at 8:00pm, with tickets starting at $54.

On Saturday, May 17, lace up your running shoes and participate in the Fifth Annual Covenant House Florida 5K on A1A.  Race, jog, or walk along this beautiful stretch of oceanfront road in support of homeless youth.  All proceeds benefit Covenant House Florida, a shelter for homeless, run-away and at-risk youth under the age of 21, including teen parents and their babies. Since opening its doors in 1985, Covenant House Florida has sheltered over 35,000 different youth, and has provided critical safety-net services to hundreds of thousands more. Race Day Registration is $40 (discounted for early registration) and the race begins at 7:00am on the World Famous Parrot Lounge (911 E. Sunrise Lane).

Also on May 17, head on out to the Downtowner Saloon (10 S. New River Drive E.) for their Crazy Crawfish Fest!  It’s an outdoor food and music festival featuring cajun-seasoned, boiled Louisiana crawfish and all the “fixins”.  Party and dance to live music all day, headlined by the rock, rhythm and blues of Zydeco.  The fun starts at 11:00am and goes all day until 10:00pm.

And finally, the legendary pop diva, Cher, will take the stage as part of her “Dressed to Kill” Tour at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, also on May 17.  Accompanied by the amazingly talented Cyndi Lauper, expect the iconic – and seemingly ageless - Oscar-winner to bring the audience another epic show filled with music, costumes, dancing, and all-around entertainment.  The show starts at 7:30pm.

Harbor Beach is often considered one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale. North of the 17th St. Causeway and East of the Intracoastal, this exclusive gated community features fewer than 400 homes all situated on 6 man-made islands, creating an abundance of waterfront property with both ocean access and direct frontage on either wide canals, the New River, or the Intracoastal.  It is actually made up of a few smaller neighborhoods together - Harbor Beach, Harbor Beach Isles, and Harbour Inlet. Harborage Isle, the epitome of luxury living with only 18 custom-built homes on a private guard-gated island, is also accessible via a bridge from Harbor Beach Isles.  Many homes in Harbor Beach are adjacent to beautiful Lake Sylvia, a self-contained portion of the Intracoastal and popular destination for recreational boaters.

Because of its stellar location and private, exclusive feel, this community has been called “the ultimate experience in waterfront living” by HOME Fort Lauderdale magazine. Harbor Beach is an ideal neighborhood for boating enthusiasts, with many homes featuring deepwater dockage spacious enough for the largest of luxury yachts, sport, and fishing boats. The waterways, kept safe by private security patrol, offer boaters quick access to the open waters of the Atlantic within minutes.  A great feature for residents is membership in the exclusive Harbor Beach Surf Club, a private 300' beach complete with a members-only club house.  An attendant is available to see to the members’ needs during the day, but the Club - and access to the beach - is open 24 hours a day.  There is also the Harbor Beach Marina allowing for the rental of additional boat dockage.

Harbor Beach presents a distinct "Old Fort Lauderdale" feel favored by many of its residents who seek the benefits of living in an established upscale community.  Because a prime location between Las Olas Boulevard and the 17th Street causeway, Harbor Beach is just a mere stroll or short ride to beaches, shopping, dining, and first-class entertainment.  It is conveniently located near the Port Everglades inlet where the ocean can be accessed in a matter of minutes. And, it is mere blocks from famed Fort Lauderdale Beach, with just a short trip over the causeway to the conveniences of the Harbour Shops & Southport Shopping Center.  Real Estate in Harbor Beach can range from just under $700,000 for a dry lot home to $10+ million for magnificent waterfront estates.

The Gayle Borden Real Estate Group is the leading expert in luxury Fort Lauderdale Real Estate, working tirelessly to provide comprehensive service to all our clients.  For more information on Harbor Beach or other fine Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods, contact us by calling 954-525-3355, or send an email to gayle@gayleborden.com.
