What is there to do this week in Fort Lauderdale? So much! Our exciting city always seems to offer something for everyone, with this week being no exception. Here are just a few of the things that we recommend…

On Tuesday, June 17, support a new local business at the grand opening of Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee (107 Commercial Blvd, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea), a creative new dining concept bringing chef-made doughnuts and craft-brewed coffee to South Florida. From 7am to 9pm on Opening Day, Rhino will offer one free doughnut per person! Guests will have their pick of 3 delicious flavors: Glazed, Miami Crème or Death by Chocolate; then, show off the delectable doughnuts on social media by tagging Rhino and using the hashtag #DoughnutsforChange. For every post or share on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram on June 17, Rhino will donate $1 to Feeding South Florida, the leading domestic hunger relief organization in the area.

Wednesday, June 18 is International Picnic Day! The city of Fort Lauderdale is encouraging everyone to break out of their office routine by stepping out into the sunshine and enjoy each other’s company in the setting of a local park. Celebrate our beautiful city parks with a lunchtime respite at Peter Feldman Park in the Flagler Village neighborhood (NE 6th Street and NE 3rd Avenue). If you can’t make it there, you can still participate anywhere by grabbing a blanket and taking your lunch to the nearest park. No matter where you are, you can enjoy the fresh air and share the fun on social media: #PicnicDayFTL!

If you’re a Beatles fan, you won’t want to miss Classic Albums Live, Abbey Road at The Parker Playhouse (707 NE 8th Street), on June 20. Classic Albums Live is a series of concerts that takes the classic rock albums you love and recreates them live on stage -- note for note, cut for cut. These events have become the ultimate destination for music lovers wanting to hear the greatest albums performed live without all the gimmicky impersonations. This show will present the landmark Beatles album Abbey Road, featuring such favorite songs as "Come Together," "Here Comes the Sun," "Oh Darling," and many more classic Beatles hits from their later recordings. The concert begins at 8:00pm and tickets are available starting at $49.

Don’t miss the Stonewall Pride Street Festival in Wilton Manors on June 21. Starting at Noon and continuing throughout the day until 11:00pm, the festival will include 3 stages of concerts and shows set up along Wilton Drive, a karaoke stage, hundreds of exhibitors, bars and a twilight parade, plus a larger-than-ever Kids Zone with bounce houses, slides and many arts & crafts activities. International recording superstar Sheila E will be the headlining act of this year's festival, with additional acts including The Jai Rose Band, Philip Alexander, Jayquan & Rych Niel, plus other local favorites. Following the 7pm Twilight Parade, will be an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the Longest Line of Dancing Drag Queens!
