Fans of classic 80’s pop music won’t want to miss The Go-Go’s Replay America Summer 2014 Tour when it makes a much-anticipated stop on July 6 at the Hard Rock Live (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). The show will feature special guests Patty Smyth of Scandal, Martha Davis and The Motels, Cutting Crew and Naked Eyes, making Replay America “The Ultimate 80’s Festival”! The show starts at 4pm with tickets available at $44-$64.

On July 12, the Hard Rock Live will feature headlining comedian/actor Chris Tucker. Best known for his roles in the movie “Friday” and as Detective Carter in the “Rush Hour” film series, Chris Tucker is going back to his comedy roots (he was a regular on Def Comedy Jam in the 1990’s!) for this cross country tour. The show starts at 8:00pm.

On July 11, Holiday Park (E. Sunrise Blvd & Federal Hwy) will host another evening of the Bank of America Starlight Musicals Concert Series. From 7:00-10:00pm, this week’s show will feature “Turnstiles”, a tribute to Billy Joel. For 36 years, these free outdoor concerts have provided a great way to enjoy the summer with family and friends. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and coolers, and to relax and enjoy the music under the stars.

Take a break this week from the sweltering summer heat and spend some time enjoying a stunning Imax film at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW 2nd Street). Filmed in the heart of the Coral Triangle, amid the pristine coral reefs of Raja Ampat, Indonesia, Journey to the South Pacific transports audiences to an underwater Eden where exotic marine life flourishes. Sea turtles, whale sharks, manta rays and other unusual creatures thrive here in this special place, the most bio-diverse marine ecosystem in the world.

In this feel-good ocean adventure, audiences join a 12-year-old boy on a voyage through the islands as he dives with the world’s largest fish, witnesses sea turtles laying their eggs after a 6,500-mile journey across the Pacific, and encounters exotic critters like the coconut octopus. Here, Raja Ampat’s islanders use ancient wisdom and modern science to protect their local reefs, showing what it means to live in balance with the ocean. Narrated by Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett, it’s a tale of celebration and discovery, bringing to life the extraordinary undersea beauty and inspiring human stories from this unique part of the world, revealing that we are all islanders on this ocean planet we call home.
